Forbes Releases Legacy Pass: a Membership Club Curated For Web3 Creators And Entrepreneurs

Amid a media landscape ripe for disruption, Forbes announced a new experimental model for token-gated publications with its “Legacy Pass” initiative. On March 18, the magazine dropped 1,917 soulbound tokens (in honor of its establishment year) that unlock exclusive holder benefits and experiences.

Notably, “Legacy Pass” holders will gain access to the prestigious Inner Circle network featuring 50+ web3 founders and thought leaders. Waitlist spots are currently available, with benefits being revealed this spring. 

Fortnite and Nike’s Airphoria Is Back With a New Experience

Nike and Fortnite have teamed up once again to drop Airphoria 2.0 in celebration of Air Max Day. This year’s experience introduces players to the Dn Dimension, an immersive treasure hunt within Fortnite that will reportedly feature virtual skins of recognizable Air Max designs like the “Royal Volt” and “All Night.” 

With familiar faces and new challenges, Airphoria 2.0 invites gamers and sneakerheads to explore its digital realm of cyberpunk cityscapes and aerial adventures from now until April 2 (the experience opened on March 26).

HUGFest NYC Announces Dates and Lineup

A creative melting pot will soon hit the Big Apple. Creator community HUG is bringing HUGFest to New York City on April 2. Get ready for live art by the likes of Mumbot and YuZapata, along with entertaining experiences like tarot card readings and bracelet making. This free event promises a vibey scene for the art community during the upcoming NFT NYC

Decentraland Debuts 5th Edition of Art Week

Decentraland’s much-anticipated Art Week celebrated its fifth anniversary this week with a celebration of “art beyond reality.” Over 40 artists gathered at Art Plaza, Decentraland’s main virtual festival grounds, for an immersive journey through eight galleries and digital art-related experiences.

Art Week introduced MESHfair, a virtual art fair spotlighting artists across 3D, metaverse, and VR platforms. The itinerary combined both live artist talks and digital tours, allowing attendees to fully soak up the experience of real-time virtual reality while supporting artists. 

Attendees also enjoyed daily wearable drops, live performances, interactive installations, and dozens of works from creators like Lauren Moffat, Dev Harlan, and an Awards Gala on March 28. 

Gala Music Tunes Back into Hip-Hop, Opens Mystery Box Perks

Decentralized music platform Gala Music has re-entered the hip-hop chat, this time spotlighting a collaboration between rappers J.K. Mac and YoungBoy Never Broke Again

The new track, “Swear,” comes with a unique “Mystery Box” NFT available on the Gala Music website for a limited time. Priced at $9.99, these digital collectibles award fans with a chance at claiming merch, goods, and perks like joining an intimate studio session or one-on-one chats with the artists.

Shrapnel Opens Own Marketplace

The competitive FPS AAA game Shrapnel has just rolled out its own marketplace to offer early-access packs and customizable weapon skins for its upcoming game release.

At launch, half the skins are available to purchase while the remainder will be unlocked in the future. Currently, “NISHIKIGOI” Legendary skins are now available and playable in the latest update. 

Fans and players can expect future exclusive Shrapnel skins on the horizon thanks to forthcoming collaborations with NFT heavyweights such as SuperVerse, BoDoggos, Neo Tokyo Citizens (Outer Citizens), and Alchemy Gods. Holders from these projects should check the official Discord group for the latest updates. 

Multiple Web3 Games Announced Funding This Week

This week, the web3 gaming scene lit up with major funding announcements. 

First up: Parallel Studios, the developer behind the popular blockchain-based trading card game Parallel, announced a $35 million funding round on X.

Meanwhile, Gunzilla Games secured a hefty $30 million to fuel the development of its off-the-grid shooter game, promising to usher in a new era of decentralized gaming. 

And finally, the Bornless Game, a free-to-play horror game that dips into dark fantasy, also shared news of fresh funding (a cool $6.66 million).
